Strength training can help preserve and enhance muscle mass at any age. It also offers a multitude of other benefits, including weight management, helping to develop strong bones, and adding to overall quality of life by supporting some chronic conditions including kidney disease.


Strength Training

The Kidney Wellness Hub has developed a number of strength training classes to meet all levels of ability to complement your overall health and fitness program. These classes are taught by certified instructors, including those living with kidney disease.

Core Exercises

This class features three core exercises designed to build and strengthen your core, which is important no matter what your age.

Mobility Warmup

These seven easy mobility warmups get your heart rate up, and your body moving smoothly before a workout.

Chest and Shoulders

These upper body exercises are designed for upper body mobility and can help alleviate pain and tension in your neck.

(10 minutes)


Lower Body Exercises

Created for all fitness levels, these quick exercises are designed to strengthen your legs and lower back.

Strength 
Conditioning 1

This class is great for anyone who is looking to start or restart an exercise program.

Strength Conditioning 2

This class will help you build muscle, increase your endurance and stamina, and is a little more intense than the Strength Conditioning 1 class.

  • With over 10 years of experience in the Personal Training industry, Ryan Miske has found the perfect balance of nutrition and fitness for the everyday busy professional. As a certified sports and exercise nutritionist, Ryan combines resistance training to strengthen the body and a balanced diet to have his clients looking and feeling their best. With over 100 transformations, Ryan has mastered the art of weight loss for the everyday person by helping habits that will last a lifetime.

    Ryan is no stranger to the Kidney Foundation. He appeared on our Kidney TV PLUGGED IN, leading several fitness and strength training sessions. We are pleased he is back with us at the Kidney Wellness Hub. Ryan always brings high energy to his classes which is very motivational.

  • Tenzing is both a kinesiologist and a personal trainer, and he always prides himself in supporting his clients in every aspect of health. He specializes in helping individuals reach their fitness goals using a holistic approach. With his qualifications, he can integrate diet and lifestyle changes to improve his clients’ health efficiently.
