Peer Engagement Sessions
Connecting with others who share living with kidney disease can be incredibly beneficial. It offers a sense of community and understanding that may be hard to find elsewhere, as people facing the same challenges can empathize on a deeper level.

This shared experience allows for an exchange of practical advice on managing symptoms, navigating healthcare, and dealing with the emotional toll. Peer support can also reduce feelings of isolation and fear, reminding people that they’re not alone in their journey. Moreover, these conversations often provide a safe space to share frustrations and victories, promoting mental and emotional well-being, which is as crucial to quality of life as physical health. Peer Engagement Sessions are offered for those:
newly diagnosed
living with reduced kidney function
on dialysis
transplant recipients
care partners
living organ donors
open group sessions
other specific conditions
See the calendar of available online groups here. Note the times are shown in Pacific Standard. Please register for these meetings by emailing peersupport@kidney.ca or calling 1-866-390-7337. Once you’ve registered, guidelines and call details will be provided to access the meeting.
