In these playshops, Sylvie will guide us through easy laughing yoga, a feel-good practice that combines intentional laughter with simple breathing and light movement. You don’t need any special skills or even a sense of humour, just a willingness to try.

Laughing yoga is welcoming, inclusive, and creates a sense of connection. It is suitable for people living with chronic illness, care partners, and anyone looking for a simple way to add joy and stress relief to their day. You can participate standing or seated, and you’re always encouraged to listen to your body.

Meet the Instructor

  • Published author, public speaker and founder of the Laughing Institute, Sylvie Dagenais-Douville is a dynamic leader and dedicated Laughter Yoga Master-Trainer.

    Trained by Doctor Madan Kataria the founder of Laughter Yoga movement, Sylvie has been invited to present Laughter Yoga at conferences and workshop sessions across Canada and Internationally.

    She has also been conferred the honor of “Laughter Ambassador” for the “Laughter Yoga International University”.

    Sylvie’s experience and expertise in the fields of education and gerontology also help her bring an additional dimension and sensitivity to her Laughter programs.

    Based in Montreal, she offers Laughter Yoga sessions to retirement homes in Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City for both independent living and memory care residences. Sylvie also uses the Laughter program as an amazing tool for Cancer survivors, people living with Alzheimer, their families and caregivers. She is regularly invited to present her corporate conferences to promote Laughter in the workplace (in-person and in virtual formats), where it has become increasingly pertinent throughout the Covid pandemic.

    On a mission to grow and promote Laughter Yoga, it is with great passion that Sylvie has made training new leaders and teachers a priority.
