O2P Dragon Boat Team, Vancouver, BC
O2P Team Members on Harrison Lake
O2P Dragon Boat Team, continues to thrive as a vibrant community built on friendship, resilience, and the belief that physical activity can play an important role in living well with kidney disease for 25 years.
Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, through the vision and determination of Lisa Venables, who was receiving dialysis treatment at the time. Lisa challenged fellow patients and members of the renal care community to come together for regular physical activity and, ultimately, to compete in dragon boat races.
For many members waiting for a kidney transplant, the phrase "oh to pee again" represents a deeply personal hope and the first sign of a successful transplant. From this shared aspiration, the name O2P was born.
